The 15th night of Shabaan is known as SHAB-e-BARAAT,which is next to Lailatul Qadr (27th night of Ramadaan) in auspiciousness. The Holy Prophet is reported to have said: “People are not aware of the excellence of the month of Shabaan, the month that comes between the months of Rajab and Ramadaan. In this month, the action of the people are presented (to ALLAH).I wish my actions to be presented whilst I am fasting.”

On this night which begins from Magrib salaah Azan, the AMAL NAMA (record book) of a person containing all his deeds of the past year are closed and kept away in preservation till the day of resurrection and new Record books are started. Also,on this night,the various angels in charge of births, deaths, etc, are brieffed and are assigned and instructed by ALMIGHTY ALLAH their various duties-the names and number of people who are to die during the coming year, births and the dates and times they are to take place during the coming year.

There are a lot of books out there in the market which consists of Special Ibadahs on these special nights such as Shab-e-Meraj, Shab e Barat or Lailatul Qadr however not everyone has access to the market or such books therefore we are uploading special ibadat for our brothers and sisters hoping that Allah will forgive our sins as well and bless us with his mercy and blessings.

Importance of Shabe Meraj

27th Rajab – Lailat al Miraj, also known as Shab-e-Miraj, celebrates the Isra and Miraj of the Prophet Muhammad May peace and blessings be upon His Purest Soul, When our beloved Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) went from Mecca to Al-Aqsa Mosque, Jersalem from there Prophet Muhammad P.B.U.H were Elevated where He First Met Hazrat Adam A.S on the 1st Heaven. Hazrat Isa A.S and Hazrat Yahya A.S on the 2nd Heaven, Hazrat Yusuf A.s on the 3rd Heaven, Hazrat Idris A.s on the 4th Heaven, Hazrat Harun A.S on 5th Heaven, Hazrat Musa A.S on 6th Heaven and Hazrat Ibrahim A.S on the 7th Ibrahim and once He met with the Prophets, Rasool Allah eventually met with Allah (God).

This night is also special for Muslims as this was the night 5 Obligratory prayers were made mandatory for Muslims as a mercy from Allah.

Please follow the guidelines below. The nawafil are offered after 5 Obligatory prayers and prayed late in the night. There is huge significance of Night Prayers
The Messenger of Allah (Sallallahu alaihi wa-sallam) said: “The best prayer after those prescribed is (the prayer performed) in the depth of night.” [Saheeh Muslim and Musnad Ahmad]

How to Pray for Shab-e-Meraj: Pray 12 Nafl in total with 3 Salaam i.e 4 Rakats read separately 3 times.

1. First 4 Rakat – After Reciting Surah Fatiha [Chapter 1] in all 4 rakats recite Surah Qadr [Chapter 97] 3 times in each rakat.

After that Recite 70 Times “La Ilaha Illallahul Malikul mubeen” 

2. Second 4 Rakat – Recite Surah Ikhlas [Chapter 112] thrice in each rakat after Surah Fatiha [Chapter 1]

After that Recite 70 Times “La Ilaha Illallahul Malikul Haqqul Mubeen”

3. Third 4 Rakat – Recite Surah Ikhlas[Chapter 112] thrice in each rakat after Surah Fatiha

After that recite 70 Times Surah Ash Sharh – Alam Nashrah [Chapter 94]

After reading 12 Nafl pray to Allah with sincere devotion so He May Forgive us and shower his blessings

EXTRA: Recite 20 Nafl with 10 Salaam In total i.e 10 Nafl of 2 Rakat

This saying of our beloved Prophet Muhammad P.B.U.H is enough to say that love for status and wealth is the greatest of evils and those who follow their nafs and desires and desire praise will destroy a human being. This chapter tells us about the various forms of this disease, its causes and how to cure oneself from falling into love with wealth and status.
